It's the most wonderful time of the year!

I love St. Charles so much they finally made a commercial for it!
Well, maybe not exactly how it happened. Historic St. Charles has a commercial, and now I like it even more.

Beautiful. Even better covered in snow!

Since I've been home for Christmas vacation I've done aboslutely nothing and it has been AMAZING! However between our house being remodeled and some great people in town for a limited time, I've somehow stayed pretty busy.

Seeing a lot of my beautiful sisters and I am good with that!

Christmas Eve night traditions :)

And I've hung around with some adorable nephews that like to shout any and every thought.

Oh and I love this video. Watch it. Okay? :)

6 Days until it is 2011!
26 Days until I go to California! YAY
29 Days until school starts :/
51 Days until I'm 20
56 Days until LCpl Ben Bullock deploys - Pray! Pray! Pray! Everyone!

I'll post about ALL of those big events!

SANTA! I KNOW HIM!

Its that time of year again! I've watched...
-How the Grinch Stole Christmas
-White Christmas
-Elf
So far, so good!
Gettin into the Christmas spirit is the best thing about December until the 25th.
Coming attractions...
-Meet Me in St. Louis
-The Family Stone
-A Christmas Story
-Grinch, Grinch, Grinch and more Grinch
-Elf, Elf, ELf, and more Elf!
-Charlie Brown
-Frosty

We have Christmas candles, trees, decorations, and candy canes around the apartment and its wonderful. Hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, and holiday creamer for the coffee. Every little thing that is only appropriate in December makes me very happy :)

Also, December has been the month of good news!
I got my schedule for next semester at CSUN:
1. Photography
2. Dance
3. New Testament
4. Nutrition
5. Marriage & Family Relations
And finally got off the waitlist for a dorm! I officially have an apartment on campus at California State University Northridge! I can't tell if I'm more excited or nervous.

Paige had a great idea for us to puff paint sweatshirts for the Christmas party we had with Vine people.

And they looked supes cute!

And we dance the night away! Actually this is more of Garry just getting outta control and knocking Paige over haha but I couldn't leave it out.

Only 4 days until I move back to St. Charles.
3 Finals until my semester is technically over.
Only 13 days until Christmas.

Very Merry Christmas ahead,
Angela

Turkey Day!

November was grrreat! I've been having so much to do that time is going by way too fast! SO unlike last year when I had absolutely nothing to do all the time. Ha.

I went to a skate party as a 90's pop star! Which I totally wish I was a part of Jump5...

And then I went home for Thanksgiving! We ate and ate.
And put up our tree of course...

Sistas :)

Thankful for SO much,
Angela

Hoppy Hallow's Eve! In December...

Somehow my semester feels easy but at the same time I'm too busy to update.
So I'm going to break up these posts as if I did them at the right time.

I hope I never miss a Halloween at home! There is something about a pretty fall night with tons of candy and grillin hotdogs that makes me super happy. Being at college 3.5 hours away won't stop me from bein there.

The weekend before Halloween my family came down to see me too! We also celebrated Grampa's 80th birthday with his sis Evelyn down here in Springfield!

We went to the Nature Center and carved pumpkins

Happy 80th Gramps!

Daine gettin creative with his pumpkin..

And they came to see MSU campus

Then a week later I followed them all home!

To enjoy the Halloween bonfire with my family and the best neighbors ever!

And eat lots of food and candy!

Halloween is a tradition. A good one. And I love any kind of tradition! Especially when they're in St. Charles.

Boo!

Big Envelope Means 'She's in' - Little Envelope Means 'She needs to marry rich'

I got the big envelope!
I'm not actually a student at CSUN, I'm only studying there for one semester, So I'm not sure why they are giving me an acceptance letter because I didn't have to apply. Either way, its exciting! And I got the envelope :)

Ta-da!

Accepted,
Angela

Burn Us Up

This song is about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. I love this story so much more now! Shane & Shane make it beautiful.

Daniel 3:16-18
"Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up"

I love that they BELIEVE God is able to deliver.
But even if he DOESN'T, they will burn.
We should want this same passion! Even if God does not answer my prayer, or rescue me in the way I want... He will rescue me in his ways.
So even if he doesn't save me from enemies' hands, I will still praise God and stay right where I am. Even if it is 'burning'.

Lyrics:

"There were three
Before the king
There were three who wouldn’t bow to him
For when you heard
The music play
And you were standing you would burn.
They looked at him and said…

Burn us up! Burn us up! Burn us up!
Oh king won’t you burn us in the furnace of
Your desire
We give up! We give up! We give up!
Oh king won’t you burn us in the furnace of
Your desire!
Won’t you throw us in the fire!

The king enraged
At what they said
Sent the three away to find their death
The palace stopped in unbelief
When the guilty raised their hands to sing
They looked to him and said…

You are able to deliver from the fire of affliction
It’s the declaration of my Lord
You’re not an image of gold
You’re the God of old
You have made us
Come and save us
We are Yours
But even if You don’t..."

Even if,

Safe

To the one who's dreams are falling all apart
And all you're left with is a tired and broken heart
I can tell by your eyes you think your on your own
but you're not all alone

Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging seas
Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet
With a love so strong he'll never let you go
oh you're not alone

You will be safe in His arms
You will be safe in His arms
'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart
This is the promise He made
He will be with You always
When everything is falling apart
You will be safe in His arms

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you to rise
So hear Him now He's calling you home
You will never be alone

These are the hands that built the mountains
the hands that calm the seas
These are the arms that hold the heavens
they are holding you and me

These are hands that healed the leper
Pulled the lame up to their feet
These are the arms that were nailed to a cross
to break our chains and set us free

Twenty Four Oh Five

So its a couple weeks late but here's my apartment! I LOVE it! And even more, I LOVE the people in it :)

This is where I walk in everyday!

What you see when you first look in.. The 'Dining' area! And Garry Studying!

When you look to your left... The living room! And my fellow Social Worker, Megan, studying!

And to the right... The kitchen! And Paige eating something gluten free probably!

Take a few steps and here is the cute bathroom! Shower...

...And sink!

Paige and Megan's room when you first look in... Megan's bed and desk!

Then peek to the left and see Paige's bed and desk!

And here's my room! Bed wall...and the flag Ben gave me! Reppin Ben all the way here in Springfield, MO.

Desk wall

Well there ya have it! My first grown up apartment :)
I get my own mail, have my own parking spot, and my own key to my apartment! Its nothing like being in a dorm and I'm happy about that.
I actually like Springfield now, and MSU a whole lot better. PLUS my apartment has Paige and Megan in it which I cannot express how happy I am to be living with such amazing people. GOD IS GOOD! :) Making my own food, doing grocery shopping, and driving to school is fun too!
Oh, and us inhabitants have formed our own sorority ;)
Phi Alpha Mu, come visit us at 2405!

See me next week on Cribs,

What's the Haps?

What a crazy week! Last week I had my last day at Kohl's in Creve Coeur because I moved into my brand new apartment Saturday! I spent all Friday packing and spent most of Saturday moving in. Sunday morning I turned right around and left for the lake! Sunday through Wednesday I went to Lake of the Ozarks with the JH leaders and interns and had soo much fun! Finally felt like I had a vacation. I didn't take one picture, however so I'm stealing one from Bethany :)

Bethany, Rachel, Kasey, and Me. We're missing Jake and Bekah :/

We went swimming, ate lots of good food, shopping in Branson, and tubing/boating! Fun fun fun!

I would spend the rest of my summer days chillin in my new crib but surprise, surprise, Ben is coming home! I'm back to the apartment for a few days, and then back to St. Chuck until school starts.

Crazy busy but completely relaxing and finally enjoying some summer :)
Still moving some stuff in after I go back home and I guess once school starts I'll look into that job thing... Kohl's conveniently followed me to Springfield.

Feeling very grown-up,
Angela

The Magnificent Mile

I was off work last Friday and Saturday and decided to take a trip to Chicago!
I've never been before, and thought this was as good of a time as any. We drove down at 6am Friday, got there at lunch time, walked around a bunch and saw everything! I went to the Navy Pier, which has almost nothing to do with the Navy anymore, but it was a cool pier.

I saw a bunch of multi-level department stores and amazing clothing stores!
Like Macy's... Heaven :)

Saw a lot of tall buildings, which never look as cool in pictures as they do in person..

We walked Michigan Avenue a lot. The Magnificent Mile was full of city people that I found fascinating.

We went past Wrigley field, we went to the Navy Pier... I'm pretty sure if Ben were there he'd pass on anything 'Navy' related ;) Just kidding.

We also ate some supah good food! Yumm.. Chicago style pizza!

I could definitely live in the city if I had to, I imagine it takes quite a bit to adapt haha.

Still loyal to St. Charles,
Angela

St. Charles ... :)
CB#: 6362330964

Where the quarterback dates the homecoming queen
The truck's a ford and the tractor's green
And Amazing Grace is what we sing
Well there's a county fair every fall
And your friends are there no matter when you call
Yeah It may not sound like much but it's
Where I'm from

5 days + 176 Junior highers

5 days of swimming, games, and learning about the Lord with a lot of fun people. Last week I went to Lake Williamson for JH church camp and it was amazing! I already want to go again!

My cabin of girls! I LOVED them :)
Lacey, Madelyn, Clara, Ragene, and Megan!

The girls I led with, minus a few.

We played on an obstacle course, played human foosball and polish kickball, tons of dodgeball and wallyball, as well as Ninja everywhere we went. We ate lots of good food! We swam in the lake everyday and blobbed a lot! Camp is the best. I haven't gone to bed earlier than midnight or woken up later than 8:00am in 8 days, though, so I am exhausted to say the least. Totally worth it.

I am very blessed with the Calvary family I have and realizing how much I should appreciate and take advantage of that more. I'm 10x more excited for the rest of the summer after going to camp.

Maybe I should unpack now,
Angela

Bullets and Bracelets

A while ago I decided to do a little project. I started making this post and never got back to it. So.. this is old news. Oh well..

Ben shot a gun one time and collected 2 bullet halves afterward.
After trying many different ways to heat them, we finally used a blow torch. Held the bullet up to the flame and the lead dripped out into a perfect little droplet. The outside copper layer was leftover so we smashed it...

These are the shapes the lead made once they cooled...

We drilled holes in the sides so I could put it on a bracelet..

Ta-da! I'm wearing a bullet Ben shot around my wrist.
And when I say 'we' this whole time I mean, my Dad and my Grampa did all the scary stuff. But it was all my idea and this is definitely my most favorite thing I've made. :)

Barefoot Angela

First off, lemme say this should have been posted a week ago and part of it two weeks ago. But I'm updating tonight with 2 separate posts in hopes to make up for that. :)

Second order of business...
I made a dinner all by myself. Complete with buying the groceries first to setting up the table. It was wonderful. It was totally easy and we're not an organic or exceptionally healthy family. We really just believe in the power of meat n taters made with love.
But I made chicken my favorite way, rice (I know, I know I'm impressive), veggies, AND homemade bread! YUM

Ta-da! It was sooo good.
They are really a roll recipe but rolls look so boring. So I did that twisty thing. I think it made them taste better too.

Oh yeah, a week ago I made this cake. Its pretty much a joke. I have no good material or experience. But I had fun and it was tasty.

Haha. It was my first try doing 2 layers stacked and more than 2 colors of icing. Eh. I'll get better.

Slaving over the hot stove,
Angela

Reunited and it feels so good..

Ben came back home again!
I am soo blessed. I cannot thank God enough. I thought I'd see him in January and not again until December. I've seen him 3 times since January! :) Holy cow.
He came back 2 weekends ago and we did all sorts of fun St. Charles stuff.
This past weekend we were a bit more chill but also took a trip to his farm! I LOVE the farm! The days go by so slow there and its so relaxing.

So this past weekend had a great date planned to celebrate mine and Ben's 1 year togeter, but he came in later than planned and was scheduled to see family that evening. Which is perfectly fine. By now we could go pro because we 'make-do' so well and so often.

We went to Forest Park on Saturday.

Me being happy with my slushie

Him looking supes cute as always. Haha.

Oh, that morning I hung out with my nephews and it was so fun!
We walked to the Harris playground!

Daine is cute

Mikail is cute.

These kids can't get cuter!

Sunday we went to some grad parties for the evening and hung out with some friends.

His friends are awesome. :)

Monday was farm day!

We love road trips.

We love the pond, fishing, but only one of us loves pictures. He usually lets me take as many pictures as I want.

Currently he is in California. Busy with work and lots of cool stuff.

Meanwhile, I have FINALLY gotten a job! I am SO happy. I have never had such an amazing, organized, and friendly place to work. Which is surprising becuase I never usually shopped there... But I work at Kohl's now! In Creve Coeur so I'd never even been to this store but I've been there everyday since I had orientation. Normally they wouldn't put a new person on so quick but they're so busy with this remodel that I've gotten a lot of hours already! They apologize for asking me to work so much, but I'm confused.. Don't they know I NEED money? haha. I've been praying HxC for a job and I couldn't be more grateful to work. Even though I already get mad at careless customers, I'm learning to love strangers and appreciate that I have a job.

All things considered,
Life is good,
Angela
